Sat, 1 Aug DAY Kurth Kiln --- Gembrook. Kurth Kiln was built to provide charcoal to use in cars during the war. The 9-metre-high red brick structure still stands today in the Kurth Kiln Regional Park near Gembrook, is the only example of its patented, continuous-burning design remaining in Australia. Nearby the delightful Tomahawk Creek and it's tracks lined with ferns, and a patch of beautiful tall gums have survived the early logging. E/M 12 km
Sat, 8 Aug DAY Olinda Falls Circuit. A circuit walk from Woolrich Lookout in the RJ Hamer Forest Arboretum to the Olinda Falls then a walk through the Olinda forest with its variety of native trees. The views of the Yarra Valley at the beginning of the walk are stunning. M 15 km
Sat, 15 Aug DAY Discovering the Impressionists Geelong and botanic gardens. Discovering the Impressionists - Paul Durand-Ruel art dealer among the artists Collection of works hosted at the Geelong Gallery. Walk to the botanic gardens for lunch then back along the Bollard walk. M 12 km
Sat, 22 Aug DAY Altona to Williamstown via Cherry Lake & Coastal Park. Starting at Altona Station the walk loops around Cherry Lake and then links up with the Altona Coastal Park. After a circuit of the park the walk continues on to finish at the Williamstown Railway Station through the old "Rifle Range" area along part of the Hobson's bay trail. E 12 km
Tue, 1-6 Sep BC Sydney plus extensions. Expressions of interest invited for this excellent exciting base camp. Participants must have strong walking ability and meet accommodation requirements (see below) One couple and two singles for each cabin. Explore parts of the Great North walk by train( steep and hard sections) . Walks also include favourite coastal and harbour walks. Walks chosen according to weather as Spring in Sydney can be very wet. Some places may be available for those yet to experience Sydney walks. M/H 16 km
Sat, 5 Sep DAY Murrindindi River and Wilhelmina Falls. Start at the suspension bridge, and walk along side the Murrindindi River. We then climb up to the Wilhelmina Falls. We follow the Boroondara track to the car park close to Falls Creek Road. From there, we rejoin the Murrindindi River track back to the suspension bridge. There is a short area on the ascent where you climb over a rock using a chain for assistance. M 13 km
Sat, 19 Sep DAY Boar Gully. Abundant grass trees, stringybark, grevillea, orchids, resident koalas and an attractive gorge are the main features of this varied walk in the Brisbane Ranges. M 14 km
Sun, 29 Nov- 4 Dec BC Wilsons Promontory. Expressions of interest invited for this base camp. 5 days of M-H walks in Wilsons Prom National Park, known for its beautiful granite rocks, pristine beaches and panoramic views. Participants must have strong walking ability and meet accommodation requirements. Communal BBQ Sunday evening, then all other meals to be self catered. Arrive Sunday 29/11 and leave Friday 4/12. Sat, 17-30 Apr 2027 O/N EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Carr Boyd Ranges and Purnululu. Wondering if there is interest in walking either one of two tours in NT/WA of Carr Boyd ranges Nth & Sth over 14 Days or Purnululu over 10 days. I shall be doing both, but you may be interested in one or both. Guided by an experienced guide in the NT and WA. Light packs, tent, sleeping gear, b'fast and lunch, you don't need to carry cooking equipment as the guide will cook our dinner & have hot water. The company is NoTraces BushWalking Australia. Walking deep into canyons, along ridgelines, under mini climate undercliffs. Most walks are linear. Preference will be given to committed walkers for 5 or the 6 days. Either drive of fly.
