Submitted by Bernie Quirke on Sun, 04/03/2012 - 17:56 clean and dry at the start mud on the Southern Range - 1st casualty above the treeline and still climbing a damp camp at Ooze Lake boulder field below Pindars Peak 3 emerging from the 3m high Richea scoparia colour in the mist - the aptly named Pandani Knob more Richea scoparia - near-lethal stuff as the mist rises, a 1st glimpse of PB climbing beside the PB waterfall on PB - surveying the descent route missing log book but this proves it - summited PB ! Federation Peak calling :) the exposed PB campsite dolerite columns edge the descent route a steep descent in swirling mist, PB looms above start of a 3hr walk in New River Lagoon, PB looming E Prion Beach on Sth Coast Track - PB still looming typical Sth Coast Track (non-mud sections) Surprise Bay, Sth Coast Track crossing Sth Cape Rivulet - hot day, cool feet tough walk, great fun - thanks, Andrew (and all)
