Sat, 6 Nov DAY Red Hill Market & Rail Trail. Park in the Red Hill Recreaton Reserve ($5 per car). Start with a 1.5 hour wander around the iconic Red Hill market - perfect destination to purchase unique home made gifts or simply buy and eat a yummy breakfast. Our walk is a loop trail from the Recreation Reserve to Stanley Rd, Merricks Trail and back. E 13 km
Tue, 19 Oct CYC Tuesday Morning Bike Rides. Every Tuesday morning until Christmas 2021, a bike ride along the Bay is planned. We'll meet at a coffee shop in Hampton and ride North or South depending on the wind direction. So the end point could be CBD or Mordialloc. The start date is Tuesday 19 October, hoping for no Covid lockdown. E/M 20 km
Fri, 5-15 Nov BC Aussie Camino. 160km walk along the Mary McKillip path. Walking from Portland to Penola. Coastal for first half, then inland to Coonawarra, Averaging 23 km per day.One 30km day. Rest day on the Glenelg River at Nelson. Canoeing to Princess Margaret Caves . As this walk was scheduled in 2019, The original 12 people who registered have been booked in. Waitlist is 15 . We will have a support vehicle ( Geoff Trist ). H 25 km
Fri, 25 Mar- 6 Apr 2022 O/N Great South West Walk. The GSWW is in the SW corner of Victoria near the South Australia border. Almost the entire walk is within national parks or reserves, staying at 11 campsites (toilets, water, firepit, shelter). Start at Nelson walking along Discovery Bay, then inland to Mt Richmond NP, back to Cape Bridgewater, Cape Nelson and into Portland for an overnight stay (shower, bed, refuel) - 6 days. The route back to Nelson is inland through Cobboboonee NP, Lower Glenelg NP along the tranquil Glenelg river - 7 days. H 263 km
Thu, 16-20 Dec O/N Cowombat Flat and The Cobberas. An exploration of the remote North East of Victoria. Includes the open grassy valley of Cowombat Flat, the rugged peaks of the Cobberas, the start of the Black/Allen line and the source of the Murray. Drive up 15 Dec, walk starts 16 Dec. Drive home on last day (20 Dec) or following day. H 51 km
Thu, 17-22 Mar 2022 BC Inverloch Base Camp. This Inverloch base camp is for 6 days and 5 nights from Thursday 17th March to Tuesday 22nd March 2022. Accommodation is at the RACV Inverloch Resort. Three premium 3-bedroom villas have been booked (capacity 18 people). Rooms are twin share with king single beds. Each room has its own en-suite. Villas are extremely well appointed with well equipped kitchens and lounge facilities. There is a heated 25m indoor pool at the resort which is available for our use. M 15 km
