Thu, 23-30 Mar 2023 BC Combined Hobart/BBC base camp. This is now our 4th combined Base Camp. Originally at Daylesford, Hobart & Wilsons Prom. Next year we are visiting the NE Corner of Tasmania and those who have been on the Base Camps from the start have taken first preference. We will be catching the Ferrie from Geelong to Devonport. You can also fly and hire a car. H 16 km
Thu, 6 Oct DAY Kilmore to Kilmore East. Travel by V/Line (free during Seniors Festival) to Kilmore East (Seymour line) and then take a short bus ride to Kilmore. Explore Kilmore's historic streetscapes. Walk the Kilmore Creek Heritage Art and Monument Hill trails. Monument Hill has a Hume and Hovell monument (old Kilmore gaol watchtower) with views on a clear day of the Kilmore township, Mount William, Mount Piper and the Tallarook Ranges. Note: Southern Cross station meeting time 8am. Back at Southern Cross by 3:40pm at the latest. M 13 km
Thu, 13 Oct DAY Epping to South Morang. Travel by Metro to Epping (Mernda line). Walk from Epping to South Morang along the Pipe Track and on tracks in the Quarry Hills Bushland Park and Granite Hills Park. On a clear day, panoramic views from the ridge line of Quarry Hills Bushland Park. Committed bookings only; no book now, cancel later walkers, please. M 14 km
Sat, 15 Oct DAY Xanthorrhea Track, Healesville. Circuit walk in Healesville State Forest where the lyre birds sing, the kookaburras laugh, and the valley views are lovely. Good walk for anyone wanting to practise hill climbs!. M 14 km
Sun, 9 Oct DAY Arthur's seat state park. Meet at Dromana information centre at 9am walk begins at 9.15 am. Walking up Latrobe parade into Authurs seat track large steps get to the top. Morning tea at Seawinds. Walking onwards to another section of the Arthur's seat track. Can be muddy in one particular section. Walk around O.T dam back down to boundary Road for lunch under a Gazebo then on a footpath to Dromana. M 14 km
Sun, 20 Nov DAY Indigenous Cultural Bush Walk and Yidaki Meditation. Educational Cultural Bush Walk with Yidaki Led Meditation. Duration 2 hours – Cultural Bush Walk with Sean Moyle and 30 minutes Yidaki Led Meditation with Lionel Lauch – Total: 2.5 hours. Start time 9.30am. Cost $30 pp. Meet at the Seawinds Main Carpark at 9.15 am, entrance from Purves Rd Main Ridge- Bushwalk - Kings Falls Circuit – Mornington Peninsula.The Arthurs Seat to Kings Falls walk starts at the Seawinds Gardens picnic area. Sat, 3 Dec DAY Airey's Inlet Beach and Bush. A good, long circuit commencing at Distillery Creek Picnic area, and taking in the lighthouse, some cliff top and beach walking, then forest and heathland. A highlight is the picturesque Painkalak Dam. M 18 km
Fri, 28-31 Oct O/N Little Desert National Park. On Friday 28/10 drive to Nat Park & camp at Horseshoe Bend campground (Fees Apply). Saturday, drive 5 km along the River Track and park cars. Walk to Yellow Gums Campground (16 km). Sunday walk to Kiata Campground (21km). Monday walk to Mallee Campground (20 km). Tuesday 1st Nov walk on Discovery Desert Track for 9 km and then 6 km off-track to return to cars and drive home. Walk-in campsite facilities include water and toilets. M 45 km
Sat, 29 Oct DAY Bells Beach to Point Addis. A lovely coastal and heathland walk which links two well-known beaches and includes a nature walk and a Koori culture walk. M 15 km
Sun, 16 Oct DAY Brisbane Ranges. In search of Kinglock Goldmine. 80 km west from Melbourne CBD. After winter rains the Brisbane Ranges are blooming with spring flowers and creeks full of water. We will walk down to and cross Sutherland Creek and then make our way up to ruins of gold diggings and Kinglock mine. On return walk through the historic town of Steiglitz.(pop53). M 17 km
