CON Cape Ivy Weeding -- Bayside Foreshore. Cape Ivy is an invasive climbing and running weed from South Africa which suffocates native shrubs. Weeding is not hard work but requires bending, squatting or reclining and pulling runners. Gardening clothes and gloves advisable. A small hand cultivator or fork is useful for loosening soil around roots. Location on the Bayside foreshore will be advised closer to the event. We work for three hours, 9 am to noon with a BYO tea break. Please book and confirm as for any trip. S 1 km

DAY Mt Macedon. An 18km walk in the Macedon Regional Park. The initial climb of 350m is over 2km. Generally the track is a good forest surface with gravel road in some sections. There is a steep descent from Mt Towrong at the end of the walk over exposed rocks (200m over 1.5km). This will be slippery if wet. Boots and poles are essential. Fabulous views in several directions if the weather is clear. M/H 18 km

DAY Mt. Evelyn to Silvan Dam. A 14 km circuit walk following old aqueduct tracks to Silvan Dam. We will climb about 490 m in total, on some 4x4 and some single file bush tracks. A number of hills are very steep, both up and down (arduous climbs, especially in hot weather). Very slippery when wet. Many colourful birds; lots of kookaburras. M 14 km

DAY Steavensons Falls and Keppels Lookout. Walk along the river, fairly shaded by tree ferns, to the spectacular falls. We then have a short steep climb to Oxley LO and Keppel LO before we return via Robertsons Gully Track to the cars. Waitlist only. M 14 km
