Search the rock formations for small creatures at low tides and enjoy the gentle surf and cooling summer breezes. Dolphins have been spotted in these waters. Chance to swim at morning tea and lunch. Suitable for both new members and club members wishing for a gentle return to walking after holiday festivities. E/M 14 km
Sun, 16 Jan 2022 DAY Coolart Wetlands and Somers beach. Walk through Coolart wetlands to Somers beach for morning tea and return via the koala walk. Lunch at the homestead gardens and visit to the mansion. Followed by a walk around the wetlands and a visit to the bird hides. Full COVID-19 vaccination required. E/M 12 km
Wed, 12 Jan 2022 DAY Dromana to Arthurs Seat and Kings Falls. A superb walk below Arthurs Seat with spectacular views of Port Philip Bay. Walk starts with 1.1km of 1 in 10 gradient, but is then easy going the rest of the way. We walk mostly in shade with fairly undisturbed bush. On the return we climb one fence and explore Seawinds gardens. E/M 10 km
Sun, 19 Dec DAY Christmas walk - shorter version. A leisurely walk from Cape Schanck exploring the marine life at the Cape then a walk to lunch at Bushrangers bay. On the return sharing a very Christmassy afternoon tea with the participants on the longer walk. E/M 12 km
Tue, 7 Dec CYC Bike Riders of Tuesday [BROT]. Bike Riders of Tuesday [BROT] is a social bike ride Tuesday mornings, starting at 9.30 am at the Paper Boy Cafe [370 Hampton St. Hampton]. Depending on the wind direction, riding north to the CBD or south to Mordialloc. The ride is on bike paths and you might need to take the train when you complete the ride. E/M 20 km
Fri, 25 Mar- 6 Apr 2022 O/N Great South West Walk. The GSWW is in the SW corner of Victoria near the South Australia border. Almost the entire walk is within national parks or reserves, staying at 11 campsites (toilets, water, firepit, shelter). Start at Nelson walking along Discovery Bay, then inland to Mt Richmond NP, back to Cape Bridgewater, Cape Nelson and into Portland for an overnight stay (shower, bed, refuel) - 6 days. The route back to Nelson is inland through Cobboboonee NP, Lower Glenelg NP along the tranquil Glenelg river - 7 days. H 263 km
Thu, 16-20 Dec O/N Cowombat Flat and The Cobberas. An exploration of the remote North East of Victoria. Includes the open grassy valley of Cowombat Flat, the rugged peaks of the Cobberas, the start of the Black/Allen line and the source of the Murray. Drive up 15 Dec, walk starts 16 Dec. Drive home on last day (20 Dec) or following day. Participants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. H 51 km
Thu, 17-22 Mar 2022 BC Inverloch Base Camp. This Inverloch base camp is for 6 days and 5 nights from Thursday 17th March to Tuesday 22nd March 2022. Accommodation is at the RACV Inverloch Resort. Three premium 3-bedroom villas have been booked (capacity 18 people). Rooms are twin share with king single beds. Each room has its own en-suite. Villas are extremely well appointed with well equipped kitchens and lounge facilities. There is a heated 25m indoor pool at the resort which is available for our use. M 15 km
Fri, 4-6 Mar 2022 BC Back of Lorne weekend with Warrnambool Bushwalking club. Saturday’s walk Castle Rock, Sheoak Falls, Swallow Cave, Kalimna Falls circuit. Sunday’s walk From the Sheoak Picnic area to Allenvale. M 14 km
Fri, 31 Dec- 1 Jan 2022 O/N Mt Feathertop - NYE Extravaganza. Day 1 Travel to site - 11:00am Meet on the roadside at Diamantina Hut on The Great Alpine Road. Depart for Mt Feathertop via the Razorback at 11 am, for a 11KM walk. Option to walk to the top of Feathertop after setting up camp. Party like its 1999. Day 2 – Return to cars via same route. Brunch in Mt Hotham – don’t expect too much, a pie is about as good as it gets. Travel home via Dargo or the highway or we may explore other hike options in the region. M 22 km
