Two Bays walking track. Starting at Dromana, the track traverses the Mornington Peninsula to the Cape Schanck Lighthouse through a diverse range of landscapes. Offers beautiful vistas and great walking. A good training walk for fit and experienced walkers only. An early start and later finish. Linear walk so participants will need to self drive and car shuffle required. You will need to be prepared to share your car for car shuffle at start. |

Hotham Base Camp - preference given to new members. This years Mt Buller base camp is at Mt Hotham; our usual Mt Buller accommodation is being renovated.
Beautiful alpine scenery, fresh air and serenity. Being an alpine area the weather can be unpredictable. Good fitness is required. Walks will be moderated to suit the conditions, but I will try to keep them challenging and fun.
Ski lodge accommodation with an open fire and a large communal area to socialise ($350pp).
Preference given to new members for the first week after opening. |

Howmans Gap Falls Creek Base Camp. This popular annual basecamp is organised by Diamond Valley BWC at the YMCA camp at Howmans Gap just down from Falls Creek. It offers 5 nights accommodation plus 3 meals a day with a variety of daily walks (easy to challenging or just take the day off). Singles will share a room (bottom bed only) with 1, 2 or 3 other people. Cost is $500 pp. Couples will have their own room with a small surcharge. A $200 deposit is required by end of August

Eltham Copper Butterfly Habitat. The Eltham Copper Butterfly (ECB) was rediscovered at Eltham in 1986. The butterfly is distinguished by the sharply defined, distinctively shaped patch of bright copper scales on the male hind wing. The butterfly cannot survive without the three-way partnership with the Sweet Bursaria plant and the Notoncus ant. Possible sightings Dec to mid Jan. ECB's were seen December 2022. Please don't book unless you are sure of being on the walk and capable of a medium grade walk on a summer's day. |

Red Hill Market & Rail Trail. Park in the Red Hill Recreation Reserve ($5 per car). Start with a 1.5 hour wander around the iconic Red Hill market - perfect destination to purchase a unique home made gift, or simply buy and eat a yummy breakfast or morning tea.
Our walk is a loop trail from the Recreation Reserve onto Merricks Trail via Stanley Rd, Station Rd and Arthurs Seat Rd. |

BWV Training and refresher course for leaders/potential leaders. There will be 2/3 BWV representatives who will deliver the course which is taught by a mix of discussion, power-points, class activities & external exercises using compasses & mapping techniques. Handbook provided.
8.45am to 4.30pm.
Course topics:
leadership essentials, Planning and previews, Risk management, Club admin, Conducting the walk, mapping & navigation, Incident management.
There will be a 15 minutes morning tea break, 30 minutes for lunch & 15 minutes for afternoon tea. Bring your own lunch. |

Garden lovers. Meet at Cloudhill Gardens at 10am .
Melway 122 A9. We will enjoy these beautiful gardens. Members to the Diggers club are free. Otherwise non Diggers Club members have a $12.50 fee on Entry. There is a sign Diggers Club out the front. There will be plants and merchandise for sale, so bring some money for spending if you wish. After Diggers Club we will go onto the Rhododendron Gardens where we will have lunch. The gardens will be beautiful this time of season. |
